| General FAQs What is a license? What is DRM? DRM stands for Digital Rights management (digital legal management). DRM is a procedure with which originator and marketing rights can be protected in intellectual property, above all in photographs and sound-recordings, but also in software or electronic books. DRM-protected electronic media are encoded and can be only played, be copied or be burned if you own the suitable key and the used device DRM supports. This key is the license, with the download at the same time with the file is transmitted and is stored on the PC. In the license the individual rights of use of the customer are stored beside the key which generally only allows a reading of the accompanying file also. The spectrum of the rights of use is manifold and reaches from a very restrictive protection which permits only one repeated playing of the file, up to almost absolutely unrestricted access, that copying, burning or transferred allows. Failed license delivery The most known issue as regards the fNot Enough Rights to Play is a broken DRM-store of the Windows system. As a solution we recommend two steps: I. Individualization II. Rebuild DRM-store Often the first step is already solving the problem. Please note that the second step is sometimes inevitable, but not very user- friendly as well (s. annotation at point II.) I. Individualisation Please proceed all updates for the Mediaplayer, then individualise it. http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp?force=1 II. In case the individualisation is not working, please take the steps as mentioned below: Attention: You will lose ALL your DRM-licenses on this pc! Licenses that got downloaded with gnab can be restored in the download archive, licenses delivered from other resellers cannot be delt with from our part! Close the GETMO Media Suite application and the Gnab Client Service Switch to the following folder /Documents and Settings/ All User/ Delete the DRM Folder (This is a 'hidden' folder!) Start Gnab Client Service and GETMO Media Suite Now license acquisition and store of licenses should work. License recovery In case of having lost license(s) of your data, they can be recovered up to 2 times. Just login, Click My Profiles> My Downloads> License, or another step is in GETMO Media Suite go to Extras > License Management > Acquire missing licenses, select the desired option and confirm with ok. Your licenses will then be restored. Please wait until the system announcement informs you about the end of the process. Can I watch the movies on DVD-players? It is currently not possible to watch GETMO-movies on DVD-players. We are bound by license contracts to the DRM (Digital Rights Management). DRM is a method by which the copyrights and marketing rights of intellectual property, above all film and audio recordings though also software and electronic books, can be protected. DRM-protected electronic media are encoded and can only be played, copied or burnt if you have the matching key and the device you are using supports DRM. This key is the license that you acquire at the same time you download the file and which is saved on the computer. The license contains not only the key that allows the corresponding file to be read but also the individual rights of use of the customer. Rights of use are very diversified and range from a very restrictive protection that only allows the file to be played a number of times right through to almost unlimited access that permits copying, burning or transfer to another computer. In order to watch a movie on TV a connection between the PC and TV is required. Please check your capability of connecting/wiring facilities. Not supported operating systems/Mac With Mac OS, GETMO cannot be used because here neither the full functional circumference of Windows Media players nor that of the Internet Explorer are available. However, it will be possible on Apple machines with Intel's processors to install Windows XP. Likewise VirtualPC Windows and therefore Macintosh can be used with the help of additional programs. Call in again in the near future to get informed about the technical improvements – we look forward to seeing you soon! Can I copy downloaded files to other PCs? Copying downloaded titles to another is possible up to two times and easily made. Please not that due to the DRM a license restoration is required. Just follow these steps: Burn the files on a data CD or copy the files on an external memory medium. Copy the burnt media in the PC or connect the external memory medium. Start the GETMO Media Suite on PC, import the files by clicking on file - import file/folder and reproduce the licenses bi clicking Extras> License Management> Acquire Missing Licenses, or My Profile> My Downloads> Licenses. Do I need an internet connection in order to playback my files? No you do not need to be connected to the internet in order to listen to your music or watchyour movies/videos. You can use an alternative program if this supports WMA and DRM (e.g., Windows Media player). Whether and how often you can burn a title on audio-CD, depends on the individual rights of use of a title: Click with the right mouse key in your media library on the desired title and choose qualities from the pop-up menu. The file qualities and the remained rights of use of the title are indicated here. Uncompleted downloads - for instance, by untimely finishing of the application or by an interruption of your Internet connection - are begun by the next starting and logging in automatically again or can continue about ' extra> incomplete downloads ' from hand are begun. However, if you break off a download on purpose it cannot be restarted again. You find the standard download list under 'C:\documents and settings\All Users\Documents\My GETMO Arabia Share'. Because the download list can be freely chosen, the media can also have been filed at another memory place. Under ' extra> settings> In general> folder ' you can look up your topical download list. Can I play the downloaded audio titles on my portable MP3 player, too? Yes, you can copy and play the downloaded titles on your player, provided there are sufficient rights for the title.
